I've allways been into bikes, for aslong as I can remember but I've only just recently bought my own bike. A 2001 CR500R and after only just getting it back out of the shop (full engine rebuild, piston resleeving and 5th gear fixed) after a painfully long Two month stint in the shop. Bastards! Since getting it I've also put on an FMF gold series power pipe and with the FMF muffler to complete it, it sounds awsome aswell. I've only just started hitting jumps and at the moment am only jumping a 35ft tabletop and other smaller but steeper jumps that we've built, but it's a start.
Next weekend hopefully we are going to Lancelin, massive sand dunes and awsome beach tracks and when everyone gets organised and you get a group of Twenty or so people riding it's the best thing ever.
Well thats pretty much it, this forum is fucking dead but there is a serious lack of dirt bike forums on here.

hey where is everyone? [09 Mar 2005|11:29pm]

yz490
Hello, I'm new to LJ and noticed this was one of the few communities about dirt bikes. Well I know technically its about supercross, but since no one is really posting I figured no one would mind if I post about trail riding and other such stuff. I have been riding for about 3 years and I love it. I have a 83 YZ 250 and, a 84 yz 490. Their old but run so sweet. The 250 starts on the first or second kick every time, and even though the 490 is a little like trying to kick start a car, it starts on the fourth or fifht kick most days. I mostly ride with my brother who has been riding since he was 7, and is the best rider I know. He rides a beat up piece of crap Honda 185 XL, with dual rear shocks, and makes me eat his dust all the time. But I always find that the best way to learn is to learn from someone whos a butt load better then you. Well I guess thats all I have to say for now, so if anyone wants to talk about their bikes or anything go ahead and post.

P.S. does anyone run this community?

well live hard, ride fast and all that.

It didn't look like there was an application of any sort so I guess I'll introduce myself. I'm Samantha, I live in California and I love riding. I have a 400 ex, it's yellow, I'm looking for black plastics so I can finally get my graphics made. I absolutely hate those fake fucks that wear SRH and shit but have never touched a bike, I just want to slap them. I go to the desert, Glamis and Buttercup mostly, almost every other weekend. I ride my 50 around my yard whenever I have time. You haven't really enjoyed the best ride until you've ridden along the beaches of San Felipe. Uhm...what else? Well I'm 5'6 ish. I have brown hair at the moment, but I'm always changing my hair. I love all types of music, punk, country, rock, rap all kinds of shit. But I absolutely love KMK, OPM, and Kingspades.

I'm new to the community, but not new to supercross, motocross, etc. I've been riding since I was three, so for 20 years now. I love it, and I miss it. I haven't been riding for almost a year now. I miss the smell of exhaust and the sound of a 2-stoke. My last bike was a KX 250, I no longer have a bike, but want one very badly:( I've already started my son on a power-wheels quad and plan on getting him a 50 in a couple of years. I am a lifer when it comes to riding dirt bikes, never get tired of it.

R.I.P Jono Porter.

'Twenty-three-year-old professional motocrosser/freestyler Jono Porter lost his fight for life at 4:00PM Wed June 9th after crashing heavily in round three of the Maxxis Australian Motocross Championship at Coolum (Qld) on Sunday, June 6.
Porter, the 2002 Australian X Games Gold medalist, was regarded as one of Australia's shining lights in the world of Freestyle, Supercross and Motocross. At the forefront of the Freestyle movement, Porter was the consummate professional and innovator; never happy to follow and always a leader. As a case-in-point, Porter was recently the first rider in the world to perform a back flip on a four-stroke motorcycle. '
